What’s on the agenda? Echonomist delivers a release that feels both hauntingly familiar and utterly alien in a refreshingly way. Familiar in the sense that his sound aesthetic shapes the mood with a dreamlike, neo-noir quality, evoking imagery and leaving a lasting impression. This is also true for The Story Behind EP, though the tracks have a functional, tool-like character. The EP begins with the title track, The Story Behind, featuring OVEOUS—a piece infused with groove and rich in depth. "This ain’t no A.I.—this is U and I" sparkles through the sound system and back into the groove. The second track, Say No, picks up the tempo, seamlessly weaving in the previously mentioned dreamlike elements over time.
