'Seance' is the debut Double A Side single from Scottish contemporary jazz/world fusion group Nimbus Sextet, featuring 'Seance' & 'Arabesco'. The brainchild of keyboardist/pianist Joe Nichols, the two tunes explore diverse corners of the jazz and world music spectrum.
'Seance' tells the story of personal rejuvenation. Rooted in neo-soul and post-bop, it moves through soft lyrical melodies, uplifting harmonies and powerful hip-hop grooves to convey a sense of spiritual resurgence.
'Arabesco' pays hommage to Balkan musical traditions. With two distinct flavours, it shifts from samba-infused klezmer to prog-jazz with a 'kopanitsa' Bulgarian folk-dance rhythm.
