As artists, we reflect, either on the beauty we carry or the pain we’ve survived. For me, making music is how I unearth what’s buried: to squeeze out what’s inside, and give it voice. I grew up absorbing the message that I was unloved and unwanted, and I learned early to mask, to dissociate, to numb. But the first step toward healing is to stop numbing, to stop hiding, to begin facing those buried parts. Belonging is my reckoning. It’s about post-traumatic growth: transforming old stories of rejection into something luminous, filled with colour, compassion, and strength. Sonically, the EP lives between cinematic alt-pop and Blaktronica, a sound world that keeps ancestry and memory close while imagining new futures. It moves between crystalline stillness and storm-like surges, weaving fragility and force in a way that feels both ancient and forward-looking. At its heart, this project is about survival, healing, and reclamation. Every track is a reckoning, with family, with love, with rejection, with myself. And through sound, I find a way to bloom when I’ve only ever known shadow.
