Recorded August 28 2012 at the Orpheum Theater Feels like the first time, it feels like the very first time. This is Polaris playing its inaugural performance in Los Angeles with the whole Pete & Pete crew in attendance, along with 2000 over excited Wellsvillians. A night that would happen only one time.The first time. For lots of reasons that don’t matter Polaris had been a thing for 10 years, but we never played live. We kind of didn’t think anyone cared if we did. Wrong. We didn’t think anyone would know the songs. Incorrect. We just figured it’d be sweet to go to LA, go to Canters, play some ping-pong, eat green apples, breakfast at the 101. It was all that, but also this: an utter detonation of love for all things Pete & Pete. The joy the tears and the unbreakable connection of 2000 devoted lunatics. You can hear it. I’m fuzzy as ever on the details, but there were loads of nice people running the thing. The theater was gorgeous and drippy with history, like The Marx Brothers and Ella Fitzgerald. Lots of dressing rooms and fresh fruit. Lots of love and thanks to Will and Chris and Danny and Mike and Toby and Rick. We had a good time. We did.… Expand
