Set firmly in the Doom genre, Planet Dirt is a song cycle about the end of humankind. However, this is no “Mad Max” post-apocalypse. In this future, humanity and all life, is scoured from the face of the planet. Only aliens that archive the remnants of our civilization and then the souls of the dead are left. It’s truly a future without hope. Originally recorded in 2010 and available for a few years on Bandcamp, Shane was never satisfied with the production. He pulled the album several years back, with the intention of reworking the material. It has been extensively revamped, with new drums, new synths and additional guitar overdubs recorded. Additionally, the master isn’t overly loud, allowing for more dynamic range and clarity. Those whose ears are use to being battered by the so-called “loudness wars” may perceive the audio to be quiet. We assure you, it’s now better sounding and heavier than ever. Download includes a PDF lyric booklet and two 4k wallpapers. Shane Edward Semler has been a bedroom producer since the early 90s, bouncing between electronic and guitar driven work. Planet Dirt is his heaviest and most blatantly Metal album to date. This required a new, appropriately Metal moniker, Harbinger of Storms. Expect more in the near future.Expand
