Catfish was born in East Chicago, Indiana, in 1962. Ever since he was a teenager, he has been touring North America, the UK, Ireland, Europe and Asia, spellbinding audiences everywhere he goes. In autumn 2023 Catfish embarked on his 52nd concert tour of the UK & Ireland since 1992. And the journey continues.
Catfish won four BLUES BLAST MUSIC AWARDS — for BEST ACOUSTIC BLUES ALBUM in 2022, 2021 and 2019, and in 2022 for BEST ACOUSTIC GUITARIST. He has been nominated six times since 1993 for BLUES MUSIC AWARDS, and considered for nominations for GRAMMY AWARDS seventeen times. In 2008 he was inducted into the IA BLUES HALL OF FAME.
His albums get continued airplay, and have reached NUMBER ONE on hundreds of radio stations around the globe. He has performed with legends Ray Charles, John Lee Hooker, Robert Cray, Johnny Shines, Jessie Mae Hemphill, Leo Kottke, John Fahey, The Everly Brothers, and countless others.
