This album was recorded in the early 2000s when Trev was going through a period of change in every aspect of his life. Equipment-wise, MC used some very old (even for the time) sequencing systems, some of which were on the very edge of total breakdown, and these chaotic systems certainly added some colour to the sound of this album.
The band had undergone a personal change and were exploring different possible directions to move forward, which resulted in some of the lighter and more experimental tracks on the album.
Thematically the subject matter goes from almost complete nihilism to the heights of euphoria and back again.
