Machines is Face Off’s latest release and is the successor to the outfit’s previous album - Massive from 2017. This EP revolves around a concept of doomy and ethereal tones, creating dream-like soundscapes that gradually converge into heavy, slow-paced dronesque pulses of down-tuned guitars.
Staying on the verge of stillness and chaotic grounds, Machines offers a glimpse into atmospheric and post-metal genres with crooning, soft female vocals on top. Imagined as dark, ambient post-rock, delivered through a grayscale lens, with an intimate and at times haunting perspective.
