I think what inspired me to start Sold Ash and write this EP was going on a hike with a friend in Somerset West. I was feeling pretty out of it and my friend came over and told me that we should go for a hike. I was keen to get out the house so we got in his car and off we went.
We got to the top of the mountain and on our way back, this deserted flower caught my attention. At the time it was quite a surreal and meaningful image, you know, some kind of sacred thing.
Now it’s just a flower though.. probably dead as well.
