Some things time can not eradicate. Peal is one of them. Slow but steady, staying true and on course. Based in the International City of Justice and Peace, the band’s aim is to make music that is slightly unconventional without losing sight of melodic and rhythmic themes. Peal started out in the nineties and went through a couple of line-ups before deciding to focus on instrumental music just before 2000. During that time Peal was influenced by varying types of music (from noisecore to post-rock) and by many bands (from Nomeansno to Don Caballero). All influences and a growing experience in making music, led to the decision to make instrumental noisecore. Today Peal is Bart Lut on guitar (and occasionally Crumar), Maurice Trompert on bass guitar and Alain de Jager on drums. An unintended three-year recording cycle led to the new record: III. It features four tracks and forms another step in an effort to strike a balance. Balance between circles and angles, between light and shade, between groove and staccato. This third record is (once again) recorded by Oscar Bor with visual artist Ibrahim R. Ineke supplying artwork.Expand
