Hari Kondabolu is a Brooklyn-based comic who was discovered in Seattle by the HBO Comedy Festival in 2006 while working as an immigrant rights organizer. He was recently a writer and correspondent for the Chris Rock-produced Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell on the FX network. He has also performed on Conan, Jimmy Kimmel Live, John Oliver’s New York Standup Show and has his own half-hour Comedy Central Presents special.
He has been profiled on NPR’s “Morning Edition” and was one of Flavorwire’s “50 Up and Coming New York Culture Makers to Watch in 2013.”
He has also performed at such notable festivals as South by Southwest, Bumbershoot, Sasquatch and Just for Laughs in Montreal and Chicago.
Additionally, Hari has established himself in the UK with appearances on BBC 3’s Russell Howard’s Good News, Live at the Electric and Channel 4’s 8 out 10 Cats. He also performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2011.
When in New York City, he works with his brother Ashok (Dapwell of the now-defunct Das Racist) co-hosting the live, mostly improvised talk show The Untitled Kondabolu Brothers Project and their podcast The Untitled Kondabolu Brothers Podcast. He is also a published author who wrote the Spin Magazine cover story on Das Racist in October 2011.
He graduated from Bowdoin College with a B.A. in Comparative Politics in 2004. He also earned a Masters in Human Rights from the London School of Economics in 2008.
