Based on the first words of the Babylonian creation myth of the same name: "When the heavens were not yet named" (transl.: "Enuma Elish"), ERIDU lead their audience into spheres of the early Babylonian pantheon, in which Babylon's city god Marduk fights for supremacy in a bloody war. Legendary battles, mystical god cults and the creation of planets, earth and man help Enuma Elish to create a dense and sinister atmosphere that takes the listener back to ancient Mesopotamia in full intensity. The seven cuneiform tablets of Enuma Elish are represented lyrically and thematically by seven songs in a chronological way, which makes Enuma Elish a coherent epic.
Enuma Elish was mixed at Stockholm's Wing Studios by Sverker Widgren, (Diabolical, Centinex, October Tide), and mastering was entrusted to Hertz Studios in Poland (Behemoth, Vader, Decapitated).
