Swiss (progressive) thrash metal band Lunacy was formed in 1986 by brothers Rene and Dirk Schmidt (guitars and bass / vocals). Late 80's they released 2 demos. In 1990 the band released a MCD called 'Suffering' and their debut album 'Face No More' was released in 1991. Second album 'Believe? 'was released in 1993, followed by another mini cd called 'Grey Silence' in 1997. Lunacy played many shows,including opening gigs for Coroner and Sodom. Lunacy guitar player Rene in fact, played in Coroner before. Not surprisingly Lunacy has the same guitar-driven, adventurous and technical / progressive approach as their country-men Coronor. The 'Fairytales of a New Breed' ep was released in 2000 by the band themselves. Their 3rd full-length called 'N.I.N.E.' was independently released in 2004 after some years of silence.
